This allows you to turn your video name into a small floating video while continuing to use your iPhone and iPad as you normally would. Before proceeding, make sure that the Picture-in-Picture feature is enabled on your iPhone and iPad. You can do this by going to Settings > General > Picture in Picture and then allow the Start PiP automatically , if the function is disabled for some reason.

Step 1. To begin, tease a FaceTime name. You can do this by discovering a contact in the app. Contacts and tapping on the FaceTime option from there. You can even tease a FaceTime name in Messages. Simply open a dialog thread, tap the camera icon in the top right corner, and trigger a video name from there.

Step 2. Once the decision is launched, connected and live, simply swipe up from the bottom of the screen to go home if you have an iPhone without a Home button or simply press the Home button if there is one on your iPhone.

Step 3. FaceTime will simply go into Picture in Picture mode immediately. From here, you can continue using your iPhone as normal, launching apps, playing video games, taking notes, and your FaceTime Video name will remain intact.

You can even pinch in or out to resize the Picture-in-Picture window effectively. If you have an iPhone with a smaller screen, this is an especially useful feature.

Step 4. To return to full view, simply tap the floating FaceTime video. It's so easy.

I have been using this feature for a long time and it has not been useful at all. It's an effective way to stay in the dialog while doing different things at the same time. This feature is particularly useful if you want to discuss and take notes about similar weather.

How you find yourself utilizing this feature is entirely up to you. But the big point is that you've now mastered the art of using FaceTime in Picture in Picture mode.
